KALPANA KUMARA

Kalpana Kumara was admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2009. She is the founder and the managing partner of Kalpana & Partners. With more than a decade experience in legal practice, she has represented and acted for diversified range of clients from corporate to matrimonial matters.
During her early period of practice, Kalpana handled numerous contentious litigation matters including commercial & corporate litigation, banking litigation, construction litigation, debt recovery, bankruptcy and insolvency, employment, family and other general litigation matters.
Having pursued her Masters in Science majoring in construction contract management from University Teknologi Malaysia, Kalpana is well-versed with construction claims and disputes. She is able to provide practical, specialist and strategic advice at every phase of construction project from inception, tendering to completion.
Kalpana also has extensive experience in all aspects of Matrimonial Law, including Contested & Uncontested Divorce and Mediation. Other areas include preparation of Deed of Separation and advising clients on other matrimonial issues such as Domestic Violence & Home Exclusion, Child’s Custody & Support, Matrimonial Assets Division and Maintenance.

Gunasundary Chandramohan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Multimedia in 2019. She had an opportunity to seek experience as an attachment student at Messrs Clarence Edwin Law Offices in 2018.
She underwent her pupilage with Messrs Kalpana & Partners under the tutelage of the partner Ms Kalpana Kumara and was subsequently admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2020.
She was then retained as an associate and is now working closely with Ms. Kalpana in various litigation matters. Her primary areas of practice are civil and general litigation, contractual disputes, wills, probate and administration of estates, company related matters such as voluntary and compulsory winding up of companies, reduction of share capital, drafting and reviewing of agreements, employment matters and family matters including but not limited to divorce, custody of children and nullity.
